Give a custom engraved or sublimated gift from the heart this holiday season!

As the holiday season approaches, shopping mode is in full swing!  Many people are trying to get their holiday shopping done early this year.  I have most of mine done already!  A personalized gift from the heart can mean more than the newest, most expensive gadget on the market!

One great gift idea, a fun personalized award for your loved one, friend, or coworker! It can be sweet and sincere or sarcastic and funny!  Here at Tag UR It! inc., we can custom make any recognition award you can imagine!  Our 4″x6″ sublimated plaque is only $14.50!!

4″x6″ Custom Sublimated Recognition Award Plaque gift

Include photos, quotes, and any other info you would like!  Here are some award ideas!

  • Grandma of the Millennium Award: for outstanding kindness, exceptional lovingness, and eternal admiration.
  • World’s Best Teacher Award: for teaching, caring, and watching over your class.
  • The Foot in Mouth Award: for always saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.
  • The Big Kahuna Award: for the most time spend surfing the internet while you are supposed to be working.

Another great gift idea is a custom engraving!  An engraved plate added to your gift will send a message from the heart.  Recently, we engraved a plate that was placed on a beautiful wooden box.  Within the wooden box was a beautiful ring that was given as an anniversary gift.  The box reflected the beauty of the ring and the personal message on that box spoke from the heart of the giver.  Not only did the plate include a heartfelt message, it also included a hand written signature engraved into the plate.  Having your own handwriting engraved onto a gift is a personalization that means so much!

Tag UR It! Inc. has so many things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving! …Including PIE! Easy as Pie, Pie Recipes!

The Tag Team is very thankful for all the amazing things that have happened for Tag UR It! inc. over the last year!  We have all been busy engraving, making name tags, and putting together recognition awards everyday! Business is booming, and the entire Tag Team truly enjoy coming to work each day!!

Of course Thanksgiving is a time of giving thanks for all we have in our lives.  Its a time to spend with friends and family.  It is also a time to enjoy some amazing food!! This year, its all about the PIE!! Sometimes, simple is best! I will be making some simple, traditional Thanksgiving pies to brings to dinner this year!

When I think of fall deserts, I immediately think pumpkin pie, apple pie, and pecan pie!

I’m all for an easy traditional pumpkin pie! I’ll be making a version of Pillsbury’s Easy Pumpkin Pie this year! The recipe is so simple and it tastes amazing! I always believe you eat with your eyes first, so a beautiful pie is just as important as how it tastes! This year, I am going to have some fun with pie dough! Nothing says November like some festive fall leaves!

Photo from “Share Alike Cooking”

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1  1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can (15oz) pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
  • 1  1/4 cups evaporated milk or half and half
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 pre-made or frozen pie crust

1. Heat oven to 425°F. In large bowl, mix filling ingredients. Pour into pie crust.

2. Bake 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F; bake 40 to 50 minutes longer or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. Cool 2 hours. Serve or refrigerate until serving time. Store in refrigerator.

I also love a classic pecan pie! Growing up, the only pecan pie I knew and loved was the recipe from the back of the Karo Syrup bottle.  To this day, I use a variation of that recipe to make a simple, traditional favorite!!

Photo from KaroSyrup.com

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Karo® Light OR Dark Corn Syrup
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Spice Islands® Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1-1/2 cups (6 ounces) pecans
  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked or frozen pie crust

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

2. Mix corn syrup, eggs, sugar, butter and vanilla using a spoon. Stir in pecans. Pour filling into pie crust.

3. Bake on center rack of oven for 60 to 70 minutes (see tips for doneness, below). Cool for 2 hours on wire rack before serving.

RECIPE TIPS: Pie is done when center reaches 200°F. Tap center surface of pie lightly – it should spring back when done. For easy clean up, spray pie pan with cooking spray before placing pie crust in pan. If pie crust is overbrowning, cover edges with foil.

I am just as much of a purist when it comes to apple pie! I love the look of a golden brown lattice topped apple pie! Last year, Catheryn made a beautiful apple pie with a lattice top and cut pie crust fall leaves over the top of the pie! I can’t wait to see what she is able to do this year! My apple pie recipe is pretty traditional with a few extra little additions that I always remember my grandmother adding to her apple pie!

Photo from Bonappetit.com

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • a pinch of ground allspice
  • a pinch of nutmeg
  • a pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a splash of apple cider
  • 3 pounds of crisp good cooking apples (I love Granny Smith) peeled, cored, and sliced 1/4-1/2 inch thick
  • **2 pre-made, refrigerated pie crusts
  • **(1 large egg and 1 tablespoon cream for egg wash)

1.Heat oven to 425°F. Place 1 pie crust in ungreased 9-inch glass pie plate. Press firmly against side and bottom.

2. In large bowl, gently mix filling ingredients (except those with **); spoon into crust-lined pie plate.

3. Roll out second dough disk on floured surface. Cut into twelve 1-inch-wide strips. Arrange 6 strips across pie. Form lattice by arranging 6 strips diagonally across first strips. Gently press ends into crust edges.

4. Brush lattice with egg wash and top with decorative pie crust leaves if you wish!

5. Bake pie 10 minutes.  Reduce oven tempurature to 375°F. Continue baking until juices bubble thickly and crust is deep golden, covering edges with foil if browning too quickly, about 1 hour 20 minutes. Cool on rack 1 hour.

Name Tags From Sea to Shining Sea

This week, I made the 3000 mile journey across country, moving from Rhode Island to California.  I am so excited to finally be working full time here in Southern California at Tag UR It! Inc. headquarters!  Tag Team President, Catheryn, flew out to the east coast to make the journey across country with me.  Along our way, we have seen parts of this beautiful country we may have never seen if not for this trip.  From the mountains, to the prairies, to the oceans white with foam…We have seen it all!  There is a Jason Aldean song called Fly Over States that perfectly describes the beauty of land we drove through. (Click here to listen: Fly Over States)

They’ve never drove through Indiana
Met the man who plowed that Earth
Planted that seed, busted his ass for you and me
Or caught a harvest moon in Kansas
They’d understand why God made those fly over states

I bet that mile haul in Santa Fe freight train engineer’s seen it all
Just like that flat bed cowboy stacking US steel on a three day haul
Roads and rails under their feet, yeah that sounds like a first class seat
On the plains of Oklahoma
With a windshield sunset in your eyes
Like a water-color painted sky
You’ll think heaven’s doors have opened
You’ll understand why God made those fly over states

Take a ride across the Badlands
Feel that freedom on your face
Breathe in all that open space
And meet a girl from Amarillo
You’ll understand why God made…
You might even wanna plant your stakes
In those fly over states

Leaving Rhode Island just in time to outrun the devastating Hurricane Sandy, we made our trip across country in 5 days, staying at hotels in PA, IL, NE, and CO.  Coming from Rhode Island and having family in Connecticut, many of my friends and family have felt the destruction of Sandy.  So many people are going to be rebuilding their lives from scratch having lost everything in this horrific storm.  Our thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones and the millions still without power.

Eating all of our meals out and staying in a variety of hotels, we noticed a vast selection of name tags worn by the friendly hotel and restaurant staff nationwide! Tag UR It! Inc. is proud to say that we carry every variety of name badge we saw throughout our 3000 mile trip! From plastic name tags, to unisub name tags, to beveled metal name tags, to engraved name plates… the variety is endless! Tag UR It! Inc. can create the perfect name tag for any company and seeing the many varieties all across the country inspires us to continue providing the best variety of name badges out there!

Check out some of our photos of the beautiful views from our trip!  I am so excited to be here in Southern California! Now that I am in the office full time, you will hear a lot more from me here on our blog! Stay tuned for some exciting new products and projects!!

As always, check out our website for more information on our products!

The eyes of an artist….

Yesterday was national cheeseburger day! Not only do the Tag Team love of a good burger, but cheeseburgers hold a special place in the heart of Tag Team Prez, Catheryn. We all know Catheryn as our fearless leader here at Tag UR It! Inc. As our President/CEO, Catheryn inspires the Tag Team to always be our best! What some may not know about Cathryn TheRtist (as many know her in the art world) is that Catheryn is not only an entrepreneur and leader, but an amazingly talented artist with her paintings displayed nationwide!

“Look into the eyes of Catheryn’s paintings and you will see the soul of the subject.  Look into the eyes of this award winning artist and you will see why; she has the soul of an artist.
She doesn’t simply recreate an image; she studies the image, garners the personality and the essence of her subject and brings these multifaceted qualities to realization.  Catheryn is the surrogate between subject and canvas.”  -Perry Steele Patton

You may be thinking “How does any of this tie in with cheeseburgers?”  One of Catheryn’s more recognizable pieces of art was created exclusively for Cheeseburger Restaurants™, “serving paradise daily at www.cheeseburgerland.com“.  Catheryn’s Princess Kamanaiwana Cheeseburger Oil Painting has been transformed into a Cheeseburger Restaurants™ icon! Seen on their website, on the backs of teeshirts and other merchandise, and and in many of their restaurant locations, this iconic painting shows Catheryn’s passion as an artist.

Football season and the power of name recognition! Happy Patriots opening game!!

Today was the first game of the season for the New England Patriots!!  Now I will be the first to admit that I have always been a bandwagon football fan at best.  In previous seasons, it was only as the Pats neared the Super Bowl that I watched a game…and even then I didn’t really understand what I was watching! The half-time show has always been my favorite part of Super Bowl night!

But this is beginning to change!!! It is because of the Tag Team Prez, Catheryn, that I have a new love and appreciation of football!  Are you ready for a really good laugh?? Catheryn taught me the basic rules of football is terms she thought I would better understand!

I’m a bit of a girly girl, and believe it or not, I actually kind of got a grasp of the rules of football through this fabulous explanation!

Today, I was able to watch the entire Pats game, understand what was going on, and totally enjoy it!!!

While watching the game, I noticed how often the back of a player’s jersey was flashed across the screen for the viewers at home to easily see which player was just involved in a play.  It’s all about name recognition!  Players’ names are printed on the pack of their jersey.  Their name and number, along with team logo, become iconic through that jersey.  A name tag can work the same way!  You see, name recognition works the same way in any business setting! Name tags become the iconic symbol of many customer service based companies, making employees recognizable to customers upon first glance!  A player’s jersey is like their name tag! Players are motivated to do and be their best while they are wearing that jersey, on and off the field.  With new Tag UR It! Inc. name tags, your employee motivation will skyrocket! Each and every person on your staff will want to strive to do their best, proudly wearing a badge that gives them recognition by name as a member of your team!

I really enjoyed my relaxing Sunday on the couch watching the Pats’ first victory of the season! May there be may more victories to come!

Go Patriots!
