Today is National Volunteer Appreciation Day, the last day of a whole week devoted to thanking and appreciating those who volunteer in their communities and abroad, helping those in need!
There are many non-profit organizations nationwide where volunteers gather and organize to go out into their communities, helping where needed. The YMCA is the largest non-profit community service organization in America. Everywhere you go, someone is talking about the Olympics! Stopping in at my favorite coffee shop this morning, the customers in line behind me were chatting about the Fab Five American Women’s Gymnasts’ amazing gold metal win and Michael Phelps becoming the most awarded Olympian in history! Of course, the Tag Team has a special love of all awards! Our awards may not be QUITE as fancy as an Olympic Gold Metal, but they are pretty close! This week, I made the 3000 mile journey across country, moving from Rhode Island to California. I am so excited to finally be working full time here in Southern California at Tag UR It! Inc. headquarters! Tag Team President, Catheryn, flew out to the east coast to make the journey across country with me. Along our way, we have seen parts of this beautiful country we may have never seen if not for this trip. From the mountains, to the prairies, to the oceans white with foam…We have seen it all! Leaving Rhode Island just in time to outrun the devastating Hurricane Sandy, we made our trip across country in 5 days, staying at hotels in PA, IL, NE, and CO. Coming from Rhode Island and having family in Connecticut, many of my friends and family have felt the destruction of Sandy. So many people are going to be rebuilding their lives from scratch having lost everything in this horrific storm. Our thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones and the millions still without power.
Eating all of our meals out and staying in a variety of hotels, we noticed a vast selection of name tags worn by the friendly hotel and restaurant staff nationwide! Tag UR It! It’s NATIONAL CHEESECAKE DAY!
OK, so I will be the first to admit that this blog post has nothing to do with name tags, engraving, recognition awards, or anything else Tag UR It! Inc. is well known for…. But here is a little known fact about me, Sara, Tag UR It! Inc.’s Director of Sales and Marketing. I LOVE cheesecake! When I realized that today was Nation Cheesecake Day, I couldn’t help but share a few of my favorite takes on cheesecake with the our wonderful blog readers! Here are a few of my favorite variations of your classic cheesecake!
- Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries: What could be better than these little bites of heaven!! A fresh sweet strawberry is a delectable dessert all on its own, but adding a cheesecake filling and graham cracker crumble makes for an irresistible bite sized treat!
- Red Velvet Cheesecake: Red Velvet has made a come back and is the hottest dessert out there right now! A perfect combination of rich chocolate tones in the red velvet, the slight tang of buttermilk, and a perfect classic cheesecake layer, this Red Velvet Cheesecake hits all the right notes!
- Cheesecake Brownies: Now this is a decadent dessert! A gorgeous swirl of creamy cheesecake through rich fudge chocolate brownies. I cant imagine a pan of these lasting very long around me!! I can almost smell the amazing aroma of sweet cheesecake and chocolate just looking at this photo!
- Reese’s Peanut Butter Cheesecake Squares: Who doesn’t love the combination of chocolate and peanut butter?!? Now add a little cheesecake into the mix, and you have yourself a fabulous trio of flavors!
- Classic New York Style Cheesecake:Last, but never ever least, is a classic New York style cheesecake. I love all takes on cheesecake, but the classic will always be a winner with me. Add a few strawberries on top and I am in heaven! I tasted me first slice of cheesecake in college and could not believe it took me that long to discover the incredible treasure that is cheesecake! It will forever be my favorite dessert!
